I wanted to write and personally express my appreciation for you trusting me with your massage therapy. I am truly thankful for this job that has turned into a career and I am so thankful for everyone I have met along the way. My journey with massage started over 20 years ago when I felt a desire to try something different. I was fresh out of college working at a desk job that I didn’t really love, but it was a job with benefits and helped me pay the bills. After a couple of years at the desk job I decided to go back to school for massage therapy, not really knowing much about massage other than I felt a need for change.
The average career expectancy of a massage therapist is about 6 years or less and going into my 5th year as a massage therapist I felt my term was drawing to an end. Struggling to make ends meet, I was ready to make massage therapy a part time job and apply for “full time” work where I could make enough money to pay bills. The “full time” job I was hired at lasted one day before I quit. It was at that time I realized massage work was something I really enjoyed and I was not ready to give up on it. I dove into learning as much as possible about massage and have not looked back since. You have probably heard me say this before, the more I learn the more I realize how much I don’t know. I credit this drive for learning to you and everyone else whom I have met along my journey in the massage world. I feel that in order to get the best results possible, I need to learn and evolve in my quest of self development both personally and professionally. One of my favorite sayings is from Ralph W. Sockman -“The larger the island of knowledge, the longer the shoreline of wonder.”
I have reached another point in my life where I am calling on myself to evolve. Making the decision to transition back to being a solo massage practitioner was not easy, but I did not want to look back in ten years and wonder to myself, what if I only had done more of “this” or tried “that”? Some of the things I want to do in the future are not clear yet, but they still revolve around massage. They will be flushed out in the coming months and I would be grateful if you would continue to be a part of my evolution and journey through massage.
If I could ask one favor from you now, it would be to leave a Google Review. Google reviews are helpful in many ways. I can’t tell you what to write but I might suggest talking about how massage with Ben has helped you or why you choose Ben Stone Massage Therapy for your Massage.
